Every year when we roll out our Yearly Sale, we get lots of requests from customers asking for a variety of information about the games that they can buy in the sale. Which games have the lowest stock levels, which games of a certain series are available, which hot games are available, which games have the highest retail values (usually for the folks who are looking to resell some or all of their sale purchases), etc. So this year, as we approach the GMT Sale that starts on Tuesday, September 3, Rachel and I have created this Buyer’s Guide to try to give you some of that information to help out with your buying choices. We encourage you to use this information and the links below to build your sale carts on the GMT website between now and Tuesday when the sale begins. I hope you find this Buyer’s Guide useful.
Where Can You Find ALL the Eligible Sale Items?
We’re trying to make things a little easier for all of you this year, so can find all of the games you can buy in the sale in one department on the GMT Website. Just click Fall Sale 2024 (or choose it from the left side menu on any page in the “Browse by Series/Type” section except the front page on the GMT website) to see a list of every item that you can buy with the 50% off sale discount.

Any solo ready/solitaire games to highlight?
Hi Chris! We don’t have a ton of pure solo games that are in stock (but quite a few coming on P500 over the coming 6-12 months), but I’d suggest checking out both the Solo Games section of our website – https://www.gmtgames.com/c-48-solitaire-games.aspx#%5BPageNumber(0)|PageSize(50)|PageSort(Name)|DisplayType(Grid)] – and, if you like air games, Jerry White and Mark Aasted’s Skies Above the Reich and Storm Above the Reich, both of which are in stock. There are also a lot of games that have solo opponents built in (bots or cards) like all of the COIN series. So if you like any of those, solitaire play is pretty easy there (the decision-making for game play is the hard part!). I hope this helps. – Gene
Are all games shipped from the US or you have a continental European distribution channel? That may reduce shipping costs significantly
Hi Benito! You can find all the details of the sale here:
https://mailchi.mp/490b2f85ffdc/gmt-fall-sale-details-sept-3-9-2024
But the short answer to your question is that our three major distribution partners in Europe (Second Chance Games for the UK, UGG for most of the EU, and MasQueOca (for Spain and Portugal) are most kindly helping us with the sale distribution, as they do with our P500 orders to Europe. So, yes, that reduces cost significantly. Just be sure to choose the Euro-Friendly shipping option when you order.
Empire of the Sun is P500
You are correct, Charles. My fault not Rachel’s. We’re fixing it. Thanks for pointing it out!
Its cute that you made sure that Rachel didn’t get blamed. Wasn’t trying to be critical, just accurate 😀
I bought Panzer North Africa from the GMT website shortly after it was released (second week of February). I paid the full retail price for it, but the receipt still says the SKU is “2301 (P500)”. Am I allowed to count this game toward my total P500 purchases for purposes of this sale?
David,
Not normally – it’s for P500 orders/receipts, but I really appreciate your honesty. And you DID buy the game direct from us. So YES, go ahead and count it. If anyone from our office questions you about it, just show them this note.
Gene
Ok, thanks for the quick response. Your offer is most kind, but I don’t want to complicate things for the office (especially if it might delay my order!), and I do still have three other P500 games to apply, so I’ll just adjust my shopping cart accordingly. 😉
what about empty boxes? what if we ordered multiple copies of a p500 item?
Multiple copies EACH count for eligibility for the sale. So if you bought two copies of a single game via P500 it is the same thing as buying one copy of two separate games for eligibility purposes. I’m not sure about white empty boxes. If we have a decent stock level on those, we’ll add them to the sale page before Tuesday. I’ll check with the office shortly.
Battles for the Shenandoah should be listed under Great Battles of the American Civil War, right?
Nathan, that’s right. It’s on the sale page now. We’re working on getting the Buyer’s Guide updated today with this and a few other items.
If the games aren’t listed on this page, but are in stock, would they still be counted towards the sale? You have the Vietnam game banner here, but its not listed on the page
Eric, I see both Vietnam and NW Vietnam on the 2024 Sale Page on our site, so not sure which game you are referring to.
I was interested in getting Vietnam 1965-1975 and Barbarossa Army group Center in addition to a few other games, they are listed as in stock but don’t show on this page
I’m not sure why those games aren’t showing up on the page for you, William. They show up for me on page 1 and 4 of the Fall Sale 2024 Category pages, respectively. Perhaps clear the cache on your browser and check it again?
Hi! I was wondering if Command and Colours Samurai is valid and in stock for the sale? Thanks!
Yes, it’s in stock for the sale, Ian. Enjoy!
Out of curiosity, what time does the sale start on 9/3?
Richard,
It starts at 5 am Pacific time on 9/3. All the sale details are available in the Sale Details email/post we made yesterday. If you haven’t seen it, here’s the link: https://mailchi.mp/490b2f85ffdc/gmt-fall-sale-details-sept-3-9-2024
I was hoping to grab Skies Over Britain in the sale, but it doesn’t seem to be listed on the sale page even though it’s in stock. I was a little confused by this since the other Skies games are included. Is this correct?
AL, Skies Over Britain is Out of Stock – has been for a while now. The other two games in the series, Skies Above the Reich and Storm Above the Reich – are both in stock and available for the sale.
Would you include the dice from Medieval in the sale, please?
Alex, we checked with the warehouse this morning and we have 49 sets of those custom dice. So we’ve added them to the sale page on our site. Enjoy!
I noticed Combat Commander: Pacific refuses to be added to my cart despite pressing the “Add to Cart” button. Did my wife tell it I have too many games already? It’s shown above but is absent on GMT’s Fall Sale 2024 pages as well. Thanks!
That’s our fault, Kipton. CC Pacific is now out of stock. So we’ll take it off the Buyer’s Guide asap today.
Where can I find the “Euro-friendly” shipping option? Is that an option that will pop up after the sales has started? Right now under “Shipping Via” the only two options are EU NON-P-500 UPS – CUST PAYS VAT AND FEES and EUROPE PRIORITY AIR USPS.
And one more question: I’m eligible for one 50% game only. Can I still add counter trays to the same order, or do I have to place a separate order for the trays?
Thanks
Henrik, That Euro Friendly shipping option usually only works for P500 orders, so our webmaster Mitch Land had to recreate one specifically for this sale. It should be working now.
On the ordering, we’d prefer separate orders for the office folks’ sake. If you add a note to the orders to please ship them together, I’m sure they’ll do everything they can to accomodate and refund any excess shipping our site charges (so that you get charged as if they were all on one order).
Thank you!
Is A Gest of Robin Hood in stock and available for the sale? Saw it listed on the email but not on the sale page?
Hi Matthew! No, sadly, A Gest of Robin Hood is sold out. It was listed on the email because people who bought the 1st Printing via P500 do get to count it for Sale Eligibility purposes.
Hey Gene – thanks for doing this! I read all the instructions but still have a couple of questions:
1) Can we already add the games we intend to buy during the sale now, in preparation?
2) Not sure I got the part about not combining P500 and games on sale: for instance, if I want “I, Napolean” (which is a P500 game) and “1862” (which is not), can I make just one order? They’re both “in the Fall sale”, which is why I’m in doubt. In case I can’t, can I still use the same special offer code in two separate orders? I’m in the case where I can get more than one game with 50% off… 😀
Hi Rubens!
1. Yes, go ahead and prepare your cart any time between now and the start of the sale. One of the reasons we sent this info out early is so that you all can take your time and pick out exactly what you’d like to get in the sale. Just don’t checkout until the sale starts, or your 50% discount won’t work, as that discount code is only set to work during the sale hours.
2. That “not combining” note means please don’t combine sale orders and regular or (future) P500 orders. I know some of our in-stock games that were released recently (like I, Napoleon) still have a red “500” notation on them. (We leave those on games for several months for internal tracking purposes.) Just ignore that for purposes of your sale order. If an item is in the “Fall Sale 2024” Category, it is eligible for the sale and can be on your sale order, even if it has a P500 in red near the game title. Those games are in stock. Sorry for any confusion that caused.
Gene
Awesome, all clear, thank you!
Why do some of the thumbnails for games on the Fall Sale 2024 page have a black “Y” or a red “T”? The one for Sekigahara has both. Thanks!
Hi John! The black “Y”s identify games that have been our best sellers over the past year. The T’s highlight games that are our all-time best sellers.
Is No Retreat Italy able to be bought in the sale? Doesn’t seem to be listed. Postage to Australia is terrible these days, P500 or sale group buys is just about the only way to make it affordable.
Hi Neil! No, sorry, No Retreat Italy is out of stock. Last year, we had some ziplocks of it that we offered in the sale, but those are sold out now, too.
Thanks Gene.
Thanks for this – a really helpful list. I especially like seeing what you have available from GMT various series.
I greatly appreciate your generous sale. If you have one next year, don’t make it the day after a holiday. I have a couple of questions concerning my order and your office is closed today, so I don’t know if my order will go through tomorrow.
Thanks for the sale, Gene! It is much appreciated. Will the 2023 Replacement Counters also be part of the sale?
Hi Christian! Yes, the 2023 Replacement counters are on the Fall 2024 Sale pages.
Never mind, I just saw that they can be discounted as well 😀
As of 5:14 a.m. Pacific the sale code is not yet valid?
I have not been able to apply the code yet either
Looks like it just started working, about 25 minutes late. Thanks for the sake prices, GMT!
I noticed that This Accursed Civil War is still for sale at $60.00 while its updated version is included as part of Musket & Pike Dual Pack. After this sale ends, It would probably be a good idea to offer a reduced price on the original version, since someone who buys the outdated original might be a bit miffed that he bought an outdated version when there was a better one for about the same price.
Hey, just wondering when is the 50% discount applied. I have games in the basket and I am checking out but no game is at 50% eg Panzer North Africa.
Cheers!
Hi Gene, do we have a tentative shipping date for Fall Sale orders to the UK via SCG?
Thanks.
